ORCA

The ORCA Method is a framework within Object-Oriented UX (OOUX) that helps designers systematically define the core structure of a digital experience. It stand for Objects, Relationships, Calls to Action, and Attributes.

Breakdown

ORCA was created by Sophia Prater and I have learned as much of the framework as I can from her available teachings as well as taking some of her classes. For the best information on this I would recommend visiting the Rewired UX site here.

How I use it

ORCA is how I execute Object Oriented UX. It provides a clear path for ones mind to follow to hone in on OOUX thinking.

It helps me identify what are Objects and what are not. It provides structure for determining how these Objects relate to each other. It points out what actions need to be taken on these Objects to complete the users goals or jobs they are trying to get done.

Finally it clarifies for everyone involved what attributes are important on these Objects. ORCA is my roadmap to designing products I am confident will be user friendly.
